The scope checker is guidance, not legal advice

The checker and answer pages provide general information to help you understand and prepare for possible Online Safety Act duties. They are not legal advice, do not create a professional relationship, and do not make you or your service “compliant”. Every duty links to its Ofcom or GOV.UK source so you can read the primary guidance. For decisions with legal consequences, take tailored advice.

We give no warranty that the guidance is complete or current, and accept no liability for actions taken solely on the basis of it, to the extent permitted by law.

Founding-member pre-order

A founding-member pre-order reserves the £15/month launch price for a tool that does not exist yet. By reserving a place:

  • Your card is verified now by our payment provider (Stripe). You are not charged now.
  • You are agreeing to a recurring monthly mandate of £15 that begins only when the product launches — not before.
  • You can cancel at any time before launch and you will never be charged. You can also cancel the subscription after launch to stop future payments.
  • If we decide not to build the product, all reservations are cancelled and no one is charged.

This recurring-billing mandate disclosure sits alongside the standard mandate text Stripe shows at checkout.
